According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first three months of 2020, the import-export turnover between Vietnam and Cambodia reached US $ 1,324 million, down 8.2% over the same period in 2019, of which Vietnam exported to Cambodia 1,052 million USD, up 4.4% and Vietnam imported from Cambodia reached 272 million USD, down 37.0% compared to the same period in 2019.
Import and export turnover between the two countries in the first three months of 2020 has many items reaching an increase and decrease compared to the first three months of 2019, specifically as follows:

Comment: Despite the impact of the Covid – 19 pandemic, but in the first 3 months of 2020, Vietnam’s exports to Cambodia increased by 4.4% over the same period in 2019, including 20/29 groups of face groups. goods with high growth rates such as: Sea products increased by 220%; Wood and wooden products increased by 219%; Vegetables and fruits increased by 191%; Fiber of all kinds increased by 70.1%; Electrical wire and cable increased by 40.7%; Other common metals and products increased by 36.5%; Paper and paper products increased by 25.9%; Fertilizers of all kinds increased by 25.4%; Textiles and garments increased by 18.9%; Iron and steel products increased by 18.2%; Animal feed and raw materials increased by 16.3%; Coffee increased by 15.8%; Rubber products increased by 13.0%; Glass and glass products increased by 11.8%; Leather and textile materials increased by 9.1%; Chemical products increased by 7.8%; Means of transport and spare parts increased by 6.0%; Machinery and equipment increased by 3.1%; Plastic products increased by 0.3% and other products increased by 40.3%.
However, there are also 9/29 items with a decrease in growth rate compared to the first 3 months of 2019, namely: simplified petroleum 30.1%; Iron and steel of all kinds decreased by 25%; Plastic materials decreased by 10.1%; Clamke and Cement decreased by 9.5%; Means of transport and spare parts decreased by 4.5%; Confectionery and cereal products decreased by 3.9%; Ceramic and porcelain products by 3.7%; Chemicals decreased by 0.4% and especially Phones and phone components dropped deeply.

In the first 3 months of 2020, Vietnam’s imports from Cambodia reached US $ 272 million, down 37.2% over the same period in 2019, of which 4/10 commodity groups had good growth rates including: Raw materials for medicine paving strong; Rubber latex increased by 19.9%; Iron and steel scrap increased by 16.4%; Machinery, equipment and spare parts increased by 12.8%.
In contrast, there are 6/10 commodity groups with decreased export turnover, namely:
Wood and wood products decreased by 84.6%; Soybean decreased by 67.9%; Cashews down 47.4%; Fabrics of all kinds decreased by 21.0%; Vegetable and fruit products decreased by 1.8%; Other products decreased by 28.7%.
In 2019, trade activities between Vietnam and Cambodia took place vibrantly, import and export turnover between the two countries reached US $ 5,263 billion, up 11.9% compared to 2018, specifically:
Vietnam’s merchandise exports to Cambodia reached US $ 4,362 billion, up 16.6% and Vietnam’s imports from Cambodia reached US $ 901 million, down 6.4%, compared to 2018.
