1. 01 Jan 2024 – New Year’s Day

New Year’s Day is a holiday that takes place on January 1, the first day of the year according to the Gregorian calendar as well as the Julius calendar, which is an important holiday of many nations and cultures around the world.

=> All Vietnamese people have a day off  on January 1

2. 10 Feb to 17 Feb – Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year (also known as Tet) is the most important and significant lunar new year festival in Vietnam, along with the lunar New Year culture of East Asian countries. Before Tet, Vietnamese people have customs such as “worshiping Quan Am” (23 lunar lunar month) and “worshiping Lunar New Year” (29 or 30 lunar lunar calendar)

The entire lunar new year usually lasts about 7 to 8 days at the end of the old year and the first 7 days of the new year (December 23 to the end of January 7).

=> During this time, students are entitled to 14 days off, workers are entitled to 7 days off.

3. 02 April – Hung King’s death anniversary

Hung King’s death anniversary or Hung Temple Festival or National death anniversary is a Vietnamese holiday. This is a traditional festival of Vietnamese people commemorating the merit of building the country of Hung Vuong. The traditional ceremony is held every year on the 10th of the third lunar month in Hung Temple, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province and is celebrated by Vietnamese people around the world.

=> All Vietnamese people have a day off on the 10th of the third lunar month

4. April 30 to May 01

The event of April 30, 1975

The event of April 30, 1975 commonly known as April 30, the Liberation of the South, the Reunification of the Country (the name of the Vietnamese State) or the fall of Saigon (Saigon), is the end of the Vietnam War when the Vietnam People’s Army and the Southern Liberation Army entered Saigon, the President of the Republic of Vietnam Duong Van Minh and his cabinet declared unconditional surrender to the Government. Provisional Revolution of the Republic of South Vietnam on the morning of April 30, 1975. This day was a direct result of the Spring Campaign of 1975 and was a milestone in Vietnamese history.

May 01 – International Labor Day

International Labor Day or May 01 is a celebration day and an action day for the international worker movement and for workers. On May 1 every year, in many countries around the world, sometimes in the United States and Canada, there are often street protests by millions of workers and their union organizations. On this day, communist movements, leftists, anarchist organizations and union unions carried out street rallies, demanding an extension of labor rights and welfare society.

=> All Vietnamese people have a day off on  May 1

5. 02 Sep – Vietnam National Day

Vietnam National Day is an official holiday of Vietnam, which takes place on September 2 every year, commemorating the day President Ho Chi Minh reads the Declaration of Independence in Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, giving birth to the country. The Democratic Republic of Vietnam is one of the precursors of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

=> All Vietnamese people have a day off  on September 02
